Hold every County department and County employee to the highest ethical standards, and ensure that Webb County remains open and accountable to the people of our county.

Strive to Balance the County budget. Webb County was fortunate that it had the drilling boom to supplement its sales tax revenue but that wealth is not equal across the board.  Most people are suffering in this national economic downturn and it is not fair or wise to burden them when they are struggling to balance their budgets.  Webb County should balance their budget too, but not by drawing down the fund balance.  Remember that fund balance came about because they over taxed you in prior years.

CONSTRUCTION of new roads and road repairs to alleviate traffic and create new jobs.  Cuatro Vientos was slated to be another McPherson Road with traffic lights at every major intersection similar to what they already have in the form of HWY 83S.  While I served on City Council, the City, County and State, through much dialog and despite financial constraints, formed a consensus, old plans were scrapped and a new divided limited access highway was designed and built. Now, with the drilling boom expected to last from 10 to 20 years, we are adding more big trucks to our already inadequate road system.

SAFETY by increasing support for Sheriff’s and Fire Departments.  Providing public safety is our foremost obligation to the people of Webb County.  With the economic downturn and the violence in Mexico it is imperative we have a well-trained and well equipped Sheriff's Department.  It’s also imperative that our new Fire Department is trained and equipped to handle  Bio-Hazard clean-up, whether it’s from commercial cargo or from the oil field.
